your wrap

bleed
white edge
clone

A bleed edge or 'gallery wrap' is created when your photos are wrapped around the sides of the canvas.

A bleed edge is ideally suited when there is enough background space around the subject of the image to accomodate the bleed when printing your photos.

Importantly, you need to make sure that you allow for the depth of the stretcher bars (either 30mm or 40mm) on all sides of your photo before printing.

We print your photos on the front surface of the canvas whilst the edges remain white. A colour can be added to suit your image or the space in which it is to be hung.

This finish is ideal if there is important detail towards the edges of your photos which would be lost around the sides of the canvas if you choose a bleed edge.

This is an excellent way to create a gallery wrap effect without losing the composition of your image.

We copy detail from the sides of your photos and flip it over to add enough extra to allow for the depth of the stretcher bars (either 30mm or 40mm depending on which you choose).

  useful tip

tips for choosing your wrap

Make sure that when you choose a bleed or wrapped edge that there is no important detail close to the edge of your photo which will be lost around the sides of your canvas when printed. On the example on the left, parts of both eyes are lost as a wrap has been chosen.

If your image is similar to this, we recommend choosing a White Edge or a Clone. If you are unsure, we are happy to advise you as to what will produce the best results.
